He spent 10 years writing at industry magazine Inside Housing and his work has also appeared in The Guardian, The New Statesman, The Times, The Independent and Private Eye. He appeared in the Netflix film Grenfell: Uncovered in 2025.\r\n\r\nJack Smith\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nRegulator of Social Housing, Assistant Director Assessment and Tenant Engagement\r\n\r\nJack leads the regulator&rsquo;s work on tenant engagement. His role includes talking with tenants across the sector, developing regulatory practice using tenant insight and engagement and running the regulator&rsquo;s referrals and enquiries function. He has previously worked in roles in regulation in higher education and in policy roles in local government and a children&rsquo;s participation charity.\r\n\r\nJoan Allen - Citizen Tenant Board Member\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nJoan brings extensive experience in governance, tenant engagement and community-focused leadership. She is passionate about ensuring residents&rsquo; voices influence strategic decision making, with a strong focus on inclusivity, transparency and lived experience.\r\n\r\nAs a Board member, Joan supports organisational accountability, performance scrutiny and the delivery of high-quality, equitable services. She has a particular interest in improving engagement with underrepresented groups and embedding fairness and cultural awareness into organisational practice.\r\n\r\nThroughout her career, Joan has worked on initiatives that remove barriers to involvement, build trust and improve outcomes for tenants and communities. She is committed to using insight, evidence and partnership working to help drive meaningful engagement and positive change across the sector.\r\n\r\nEve Blezard - Policy Lead, CIH&nbsp;&nbsp;\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nEve Blezard is CIH policy lead for asset management, building safety and culture. She holds a PhD in the Built Environment from The University of Salford and has worked in housing for over 15 years, and has previously held roles at Housing Quality Network and Progress Housing Group. She has independently mentored and supported a number of resident scrutiny groups since it&#39;s inception. As a senior manager, she has also advised boards and senior teams on how to respond to resident scrutiny recommendations, overseeing their implementation.\r\n\r\nAs a trainer, she has a PGCE in post compulsory education and has delivered training for Tpas since 2003.\r\n\r\nUsing the combined experiences above she brings a vast knowledge and experience of resident scrutiny and how to demonstrate clear outcomes and value.\r\n\r\nHer style is participative and uses a variey of training methods.\r\n\r\n\r\nImportant Information\r\n\r\nThe course will run from 10am until 3pm.\r\n\r\nThe price is plus VAT.\r\n\r\n\r\nCancellation Policy\r\n\r\nAll cancellations must be made in writing.
