What is National Tenant Involvement Week?
Get ready for a week packed full of all things tenant engagement and involvement, with plenty of opportunities to learn, share ideas, hear from others and celebrate the fantastic work happening across the sector.
Across five days, we’ll explore the national picture for tenant involvement, share examples of great practice, look at grassroots involvement and community power, think about how involvement can work better for everyone and, finally, celebrate the people who give their time to make a difference.
There will be lots of free online sessions for tenants and staff, with guest speakers, practical examples, conversations and ideas to take back to your own organisation or community.
We’re still putting the final programme together, but here’s a first look at how the week is shaping up.
We start the week by looking at the bigger national picture for tenant involvement.
We’ll explore what is expected of landlords, what tenants should expect and where meaningful involvement sits within the changing social housing landscape.
A chance to step back from day-to-day engagement activity and look at where tenant involvement sits nationally and where it could be heading next.
Contractors play a huge part in tenants’ everyday experience of housing services from repairs and maintenance to planned works and major investment programmes.
This day will look at how landlords, contractors and tenants can work together to shape and improve services.
Some of the strongest involvement starts with people simply wanting to make things better where they live.
This day will look beyond formal engagement structures and focus on community-led involvement, grassroots action and community power.
Our Best Practice in Tenant Engagement Club will also be part of the day, with a special grassroots focus. We’ll hear practical examples of community-led involvement and share ideas about what is working in neighbourhoods and communities across the country.
Good involvement cannot just work for the people who find it easiest to take part.
This day is about widening the conversation and thinking differently about who gets involved, how people are invited to participate and what organisations may need to change.
The focus will be firmly on practical ideas for making sure more people have genuine opportunities to influence the services and communities that matter to them.
We finish National Tenant Involvement Week by celebrating the people who give their time to make a difference to housing services, communities and the lives of others.
Throughout the year, Tpas members nominate people through our Engagement Heroes Volunteer Recognition Scheme. On Friday, we want to bring some of those stories to life. We’ll invite Engagement Heroes from across the country to join us and talk about their experiences – what got them involved, what keeps them going, what they have helped to change and what they are most proud of.
It will be a relaxed and positive end to the week, celebrating the many different ways people contribute to better housing and stronger communities.
We’ll also take the opportunity to reflect on some of the ideas, stories and learning shared throughout National Tenant Involvement Week 2026.
