What is National Tenant Involvement Week?
Get ready for a week packed full of all things tenant engagement and involvement, with plenty of opportunities to learn, share ideas, hear from others and celebrate the fantastic work happening across the sector.
Across five days, we’ll explore the national picture for tenant involvement, share examples of great practice, look at grassroots involvement and community power, think about how involvement can work better for everyone and, finally, celebrate the people who give their time to make a difference.
There will be lots of free online sessions for tenants and staff, with guest speakers, practical examples, conversations and ideas to take back to your own organisation or community.
As part of Tpas National Tenant Involvement Week, we want to celebrate the people who make tenant involvement what it is - people like you!
Everyone has their own story. Maybe you wanted to make a difference to your community, improve housing services, make sure tenants’ voices are heard, or help others have a say in decisions that affect their lives.
With your permission, we’ll share some of your stories during National Tenant Involvement Week to inspire others and celebrate the difference tenant involvement makes.

We start the week by looking at the bigger national picture for tenant involvement.
We’ll explore what is expected of landlords, what tenants should expect and where meaningful involvement sits within the changing social housing landscape.
A chance to step back from day-to-day engagement activity and look at where tenant involvement sits nationally and where it could be heading next.
An opportunity for tenants and staff to hear about expectations, ask questions and explore how regulation connects to everyday engagement.
Hear from Anthea Chilton from the Housing Ombudsman about learning from complaints, listening to residents and using insight to make meaningful changes. There'll be an opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and explore how organisations can use complaints and tenant feedback to improve services and make a real difference for residents.
Contractors play a huge part in tenants’ everyday experience of housing services from repairs and maintenance to planned works and major investment programmes.
This day will look at how landlords, contractors and tenants can work together to shape and improve services.
Through a series of short presentations, you'll hear how contractors are listening to residents, acting on feedback, working with communities and involving tenants in decisions about the services they deliver.
Discover what's working in practice, learn from others' experiences and take away ideas to strengthen tenant engagement and build more effective partnerships between contractors, landlords and residents.
The session will explore how tenants are involved in shaping services, giving feedback on contractor performance and influencing how works are delivered.
We'll also hear what makes the relationship between landlord, contractor and tenants work well – and what others can learn from their approach.
Some of the strongest involvement starts with people simply wanting to make things better where they live.
This day will look beyond formal engagement structures and focus on community-led involvement, grassroots action and community power.
Our Best Practice in Tenant Engagement Club will also be part of the day, with a special grassroots focus.
Connect with others, learn new approaches, and take away practical ideas to strengthen engagement in your own organisation.
Good involvement can't just work for the people who find it easiest to take part.
This day is about widening the conversation and thinking differently about who gets involved, how people are invited to participate and what organisations may need to change.
The focus will be firmly on practical ideas for making sure more people have genuine opportunities to influence the services and communities that matter to them.
Join us to hear about approaches that are helping younger tenants get involved, have their voices heard and make a difference. We'll explore what works well, what might put young people off participating, and how housing organisations can create more accessible, relevant and engaging opportunities for them to get involved.
Through real-life experiences, practical examples and shared ideas, we'll look at how we can move beyond traditional approaches and rethink what meaningful involvement looks like for younger generations.
Hear from Forum Housing about their approach to tenant engagement in a supported housing setting for homeless people or those at risk of homelessness.
The session will explore how they involve people in ways that reflect different needs and circumstances, what they have learned about making engagement accessible and meaningful, and how tenant voice is helping shape services.
We finish National Tenant Involvement Week by celebrating the people who give their time to make a difference to housing services, communities and the lives of others.
Throughout the year, Tpas members nominate people through our Engagement Heroes Volunteer Recognition Scheme. On Friday, we want to bring some of those stories to life. We’ll invite Engagement Heroes from across the country to join us and talk about their experiences – what got them involved, what keeps them going, what they have helped to change and what they are most proud of.
It will be a relaxed and positive end to the week, celebrating the many different ways people contribute to better housing and stronger communities.
We’ll also take the opportunity to reflect on some of the ideas, stories and learning shared throughout National Tenant Involvement Week 2026.
Join us for a special session featuring Tpas Engagement Heroes from across the country, sharing their personal stories and the impact they've made. From scrutiny panel members and tenant representatives to community champions, volunteers, campaigners and those who support others behind the scenes, we'll celebrate the many different ways people get involved.
Hear what inspired them to get started, what keeps them motivated, the changes they've helped achieve and what they're most proud of. They'll also share their advice for anyone thinking about getting involved themselves.

Hear from tenants, landlords and communities about engagement that is making a difference.
You do not need to be a Tpas member to take part. Everyone working on tenant engagement is welcome.
