Join our Tenant Scrutineer member network. This has been set up to facilitate peer to peer support and learning amongst our tenant members

AGENDA -  CLAIMS FARMING

In Scrutiny Club meetings with the government this year you raised your concerns about some law firms taking advantage of tenants. This is sometimes referred to as Claims Farming. The Government has listened and now they want to inform you on what they are going to do about it.

You will meet with a team from the Ministry of Homes Communities and Local Government to hear about their plans on this important issue and for you to give feedback. Early booking is strongly encouraged so sign up for this exclusive free event below.

The government have released three major consultations on the future of housing these are covering:

• Decent Homes Standard for Social and Private Housing

• Social Rent Convergence

• Improving the Energy Efficiency of Socially Rented Homes in England

We have also had the recent announcements in the Spending Review that have set an ambitious agenda for the sector.

Tpas have been working hard to lobby for a positive change and we will continue to do so with these new proposals. To that extent we have put together a number of events free to our members where we can brief you on what these proposals mean and gather your opinions.

Social Rent Convergence

The government is keen to equalise rents across social housing. Its hoped it will bring greater income to the sector. But many are concerned about affordability for tenants. Come along and hear what this could mean housing and have your say.
