Introducing Lightning Reach – how to access support and funding for those who need it

Lightning Reach aims to enable people in financial hardship to find and apply for a personalised range of support from multiple providers and it’s all available through a single portal with just one application.

About Lightning Reach

Lighting Reach is a social impact start up founded during the pandemic to connect people in financial hardship to a personalised range of financial support they are eligible for.

They have developed a free online portal that enables anyone who needs additional help to find financial support from various sources (including charities, local councils, and discounted social tariffs) quickly and securely.

Lightning Reach has been able to help people obtain £1.5m in grants to date, with 94% user satisfaction rates.

The portal was developed collaboratively with input from charities and organisations who provide financial support, including the Royal British Legion and Lambeth Council.

Some of the benefits of using the Lightning Reach portal to find support include:

  • Quick and easy - it takes less than 15 minutes to complete a profile from any device to find available support.
  • No lengthy paperwork on repeated application forms - fill out information once and upload all support documents directly through the portal.
  • Secure - supporting documents can be uploaded directly to the portal, which is safer than sending by post or email.
  • Email updates sent when new support matches become available.
