Tpas has been one of the driving forces behind the development and implementation of tenant led scrutiny since its inception within the Social Housing sector way back in 2010. 

As we enter another decade, the importance of successful tenant scrutiny has never been greater, as we see it referenced in the Governments Green Paper, the Together with Tenants Charter, and as a key part of the regulatory frameworks.

This first-ever national Tenant Scrutiny conference will focus on where scrutiny needs to be to make it successful, relevant and meaningful for another decade. It will bring together experienced scrutiny practitioners, leading speakers, along with a wide range of workshops designed to inspire, innovate and invite fresh thinking.

We are also pleased to announce that the conference will have a dedicated scrutiny knowledge exchange area, where delegates can swap and share examples of scrutiny practice with each other.

Keynote speakers

We will be joined by Jim Ripley, Chief Executive of Phoenix Community Housing and one of the tenant scrutineers, who will be talking about how important organisational culture is for successful scrutiny and how their award-winning scrutiny has improved services and accountability. 

We will also hear from Helen McHale, Chief Executive of Stockport Homes who will join us to talk about how tenant led scrutiny has been embedded within this sector, and what key benefits it has brought.
