Among Friends and Neighbours: Talking together about Race and Immigration
Our friends at HDN are holding the following webinar and are offering free places for Tpas members to attend.
Building better neighbours by talking with residents openly about immigration, race, and the changing face of their communities
About this Event
There has never been a more important time to talk to with communities about what it means to be a truly welcoming place. Welcoming is about more than tolerance—it’s about developing a true respect and appreciation for our neighbours, creating policies and programmes that support inclusion, and making sure that everyone—newcomer or longtime resident—feels they belong.
Housing organisations are committed to creating fairer and inclusive communities, but how do we address the root causes of what sometimes makes communities unwelcoming for newcomers?
As some areas are changing rapidly into a more diverse community it's important to start a conversation and think of the tools to effectively engage with residents.
Join us as we discuss the thorny issues that prevent communities from moving forward, together.
Confirmed participants are Tariq Bashir and Violet Cannon from the Who Is Your Neighbour Project.
