Gentoo's approach to pulling together the Tpas accreditation self assessment

Monday 12th of May 2025

As an organisation, we wanted to work collaboratively with our customers and colleagues to gather the information needed for the self-assessment.

To support this, we invited TPAS to speak with our colleagues and involved customers about the process, ensuring they understood their role and contribution.

During our initial discussions, we explored the types of evidence customers expected to see in the self-assessment while also helping colleagues understand the range of themes covered, as their roles would be imperative to the completion or the self-assessment.

Over six weeks, we established seven working groups, each focusing on different themes within the self-assessment. This approach enabled us to involve colleagues from across the organisation, distributing responsibility and ensuring a broad perspective.

Once we were confident in the evidence gathered, we invited our involved customers to a validation session. There, they reviewed the evidence within the working groups, provided their own scores for each theme, and shared feedback on our strengths, weaknesses, and areas where additional evidence could be included.

All feedback and scores were captured via our insight platform, allowing us to analyse customer comments and evidence the scores they provided.

We believe this approach to the self-assessment ensures that we collectively hear from both customers and colleagues, creating a more well-rounded and inclusive assessment.
