Cottsway providing new affordable homes in Gloucestershire village

Friday 10th of March 2023

Fifteen new affordable homes will be provided in the village of Ashchurch, near Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire, by Cottsway Housing Association.

Cottsway has exchanged contracts on the new properties being built by New Dawn Homes.

The new development, named Ashchurch Fields, will have a mix of 1, 2 and 3-bed properties including 4 bungalows - 10 for affordable rent and 5 for shared ownership.

Colin Bloodworth, Cottsway’s Director of Development and Partnerships, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with New Dawn Homes for the first time to provide much-needed affordable new homes.

“Cottsway is the largest affordable housing provider in West Oxfordshire and we have a growing number of properties in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. We’re working hard to help more people in housing need in all of these areas.”

These 15 Cottsway homes are part of a larger development which will include 47 new homes in total when complete.

Angela Hughes, Managing Director at New Dawn Homes, said: “We have nearly 20 years of house building experience and it’s great to be working with Cottsway to provide these new homes in this village setting.

“Ashchurch Fields is in a great edge of village location - just 2 miles east of the historic market town of Tewkesbury. It is only 1 mile from the M5 Junction 9 and within easy reach of Cheltenham, Gloucester and the Cotswolds. There is a railway station and excellent shopping and employment facilities within walking distance, as well as the village primary school and lots of activities at the village hall.”

The first Cottsway homes are due be handed over in late Spring 2023 and the balance in late autumn. Those for affordable rent will be advertised on the Homeseeker Plus website closer to the time of completion. All applicants will need to register: www.homeseekerplus.co.uk
