Our Experience with the Tpas Exemplar Accreditation - St Leger
Monday 21st of July 2025
Having proudly achieved Tpas Exemplar status at Rotherham Council and now working towards seeking to achieve it for St Leger Homes in Doncaster, I can confidently say: go for it!
Tpas accreditation is a powerful tool to measure how well you're meeting the Tpas Engagement Standards, which are regularly updated and aligned with the latest expectations from the Social Housing Regulator and other key bodies.
The self-assessment process is more than a checklist—it's a strategic deep dive. Gathering evidence against the standards sharpens your organisational insight, highlights your strengths, celebrate any outcomes and pinpoints areas for growth. It’s a brilliant way to future-proof your engagement approach.
What’s more, the feedback and recommendations from Tpas can spark real improvements—not just for your organisation, but for your customers and the wider community moving forward.
Personally, I find the Tpas process incredibly rewarding. It boosts my awareness of how we’re empowering tenants to shape our services and policies across the organisation and where we need to do better. As a tenant engagement professional, it’s helped me challenge myself and seek to continuously raise the bar on how we listen to and act on customer voices.
So if you’re on the fence—don’t be. Tpas accreditation is worth every step and gives you a chance to strive to be the shining example of excellence. Dive in and make it happen!
