Tpas AGM 2026: Reflecting on Progress and Looking Ahead

Tuesday 31st of March 2026

On Monday 30th March, Tpas members came together for our Annual General Meeting—a valuable opportunity to reflect on the past year, review our financial position, and hear about what’s next for the organisation and the wider housing sector.

A highlight of the session was an insightful contribution from the Housing Ombudsman, Richard Blakeway, who shared three key positives shaping the sector: continued policy and regulatory change following Grenfell, increased investment in existing homes, and the growing impact of the Complaint Handling Code. While progress is clear, he also reminded us that stigma, often unconscious, remains an important challenge to address.

From a financial perspective, Joanne Harding from our Accountants, Menzies, presented a strong set of results for the year ending 31st March 2025. Tpas saw turnover increase to £1.7 million, alongside a healthy surplus of £209,000. This reflects a stable and growing organisation, with solid foundations in place.

Our Chief Executive Jenny provided an update on Tpas’s continued development, including growth to a team of 19 staff and exciting plans for a new CRM system and website to improve member experience. While next year is expected to show a deficit due to unforeseen costs, this has been anticipated, with reserves in place to manage it responsibly.

The AGM also highlighted the strength of the Tpas membership, particularly among local authorities, and reaffirmed our commitment to making our networks and support even more accessible to tenants.

Overall, the session was a positive reflection on a year of progress, alongside a clear focus on continuing to strengthen tenant voice and influence across the sector.
