Professionalism in Social Housing
CiH, the Chartered Institute of Housing, have been working on a new set of professional standards for all staff that work in social housing.
As part of developing these new standards they want to hear the views of tenants on what they are proposing. What’s good, what’s missing and what will make a real difference to the service that tenants receive.
This session will be hosted by Debbie Larner, CiH’s head of knowledge and products, who is leading the project. Debbie will talk through the new framework and how it ties in with the achievement of creating a sector of professionals, as outlined as a requirement in the social housing white paper.
Debbie will cover some of the key questions for professionalism in the sector, such as;
- How do we generate a sense of public pride in social housing, as a place to live and as a career?
- What can we do to raise the profile of the housing profession and challenge perceptions people have?
- How do we tackle stigma within our own organisations and more widely?
- How can we continue to respond professionally to the challenges brought about by Covid 19?
This will be a roundtable format event so place will be limited to ensure there can be plenty of mutual discussion.
