We know that engaging with rural tenants and communities can be challenging at the best of times and the cost-of-living crisis won't help.


The four nations of Britain have joined together to present this exciting online workshop exploring great practice for engaging with rural communities. It's free of to attend for members of Tpas Cymru, Tpas Scotland, Tpas England and Supporting Communities Northern Ireland, and here's the programme: 

‘Better Connected’ Hear from Aidan Kearney Senior Training Officer, Supporting Communities (from Northern Ireland) who will look at the challenges and barriers to engagement among rural NI residents, particularly throughout lockdown. The presentation will highlight good practice through examples and case studies, and explore the methods that professionals and volunteers alike have utilised to achieve increased engagement, connectivity and communication.

Challenges of living in a rural areaLouise McNeilage, Tenant & Community Facilitator at Scottish Borders HA and Dolina Morrison, TPAS Scotland.

Louise works in the borders of Scotland where there are very few cities and a lot of the areas are rural – Louise will be talking about the challenges that SBHA rural tenants experience. Dolina is a TPAS Scotland employee and is the TPO with the Hebridean Housing Partnership (HHP), she is also a tenant of HHP and she will be talking about the challenges of living and working on the Scottish Islands.

David Wilton CEO of TPAS Cymru will share his thoughts and knowledge of using digital solutions and social media as ways on engaging with tenants, residents, and communities.
