Your Voice Matters - Member Focus Group for Staff (Free)

Your Voice Matters

We are entering a busy summer of consultations with the government and regulator wanting to hear your views on how the new Social Housing Regulation should be implemented to related issues such as Awaabs Law and its approach to Damp and Mould.

Tpas as always will be right at the heart of the conversation and we want to make sure that as members your voices and views are heard loud and clear.

We are looking for people to come along and have their say at our staff and tenant member matters focus groups. With support from Clare and Caritas from the Tpas Policy team we will work through what the new laws mean to social housing and how we can shape them.

We will be running two workshops focussing on specific areas of the new regulation

This session is workshop one and is for staff members only.

The Tenants session is on 20th September, 1.00pm – 3.00pm (workshop one)

Workshop 1: Homes and neighbourhoods.

Workshop 2: Tenancies and accountability.

Staff session - 25th September, 2.00pm – 4.00pm

Tenants session - 27th September, 1.00pm – 3.00pm

Additional Information

The consultation includes four new standards, and we're running two separate sessions, each covering two standards.
Each Workshop will run twice - once for Tenant members, and once for staff.

Workshop 1: Homes and neighbourhoods.
The Safety and Quality standard replaces the old Home standard; and there are also proposals to update the Neighbourhood and Community standard. Between them, these standards cover the Regulator's expectations about how landlords will look after tenants' homes and neighbourhoods. Awaab's Law will also be an important part of this, so we'll cover what we know about the Government's plans so far.

Workshop 2: Tenancies and accountability.
The Transparency, Influence and Accountability standard will replace the old Tenant Involvement and Empowerment standard, as well as the TSM standard; and the Tenancy Standard has been updated. These two standards are all about how landlords will treat tenants as individuals, and how they will be accountable to tenants as a group, including the information they'll have to provide.
