Have Your Say: The Impact of the New Consumer Regulation Reforms (Free)
Following the Social Housing White Paper (2020) and the Social Housing (Regulation) Act (2023), the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) introduced wide-ranging changes to the way social landlords are regulated.
Since April 2024, a new proactive consumer regulation regime has been in place — including regular inspections for all social landlords, local authorities included.
Although it’s still early days, RSH is keen to understand how these reforms are working in practice — for both landlords and tenants. Are the new standards improving services and accountability? Have tenants noticed any real changes?
In this interactive one-hour session, the team at the Regulator of Social Housing will:
- Share a short update on the background and purpose of the 2024 reforms.
- Host breakout discussions to hear directly from tenants and stakeholders about their experiences and observations since the new regime began.
- Your feedback will help RSH understand the real-world impact of the reforms and shape their approach going forward. It will also contribute to their ongoing learning ahead of a formal impact evaluation by an external body in the next 2–3 years.
Join us to share your voice and help influence the future of social housing regulation.
This event is for tenants only and limited to 25 places.
