Awaab’s Law: Consultation on timescales for repairs in the social rented sector

Join our Focus groups to share your views on how the law will be implemented.

Many of us are all too sadly aware of the tragic death of 2 year old Awaab Ishak, as a direct result of exposure to mould in his home. The government shortly afterwards added Awaabs Law to the Social Housing Regulation in an attempt to take action against any such tragedies happening again.

The government is now seeking opinions on how this law will be implemented. As a Tpas member and part of our 316 Landlord family with nearly 4 million tenants, we want to know your thoughts on the governments proposals, to enable us to create a Tpas submission to the consultation.

Led by our Policy team, we will be running 2 focus groups on Thursday 15th Feb, one for housing staff and one for tenants. Your voice matters, so please sign up to a session and have your say on this vitally important law.

There are 2 sessions on Thursday 15th February 2024
Staff session – 10am – 12pm
Tenant session - 1pm – 3pm
