Tpas Briefing March 2022 - Department for Levelling-Up, Housing and Communities Announcements

Tuesday 5th of April 2022

Close to eighteen months after the government first published the Social Housing White Paper, and following a change in the Secretary of State, the Government have offered more details in the progress of the social housing reforms.

Tpas have gone into the details of this progress over a number of areas and linked to more detail on different initiatives including:

  • The new resident panel
  • Naming and shaming landlords
  • Reforming social housing regulation

The update has been framed as progress towards the promised changes, and has been welcomed by many in the social housing sector. But how much progress is it really? We also discuss this in our member briefing.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on the changes, to make sure the experience of tenants and the White Paper promises remain at the centre of what’s delivered.

Tpas have a new briefing document explaining the government's recent announcements and updates regarding the Social Housing White Paper.
